MHB teammates raised $8,000 in 45 minutes for the Children’s Cancer Association

On February 7th and 8th the Children’s Cancer Association (CCA) held a radio-thon on 105.1 the Buzz during the Nelson and Terry Show (Nelson and Terry’s Valentine’s Day for CCA).  For 28 hours listeners were asked to show their support for the organization by donating during the radio-thon. 

One hour prior to the radio-thon ending on February 8th an email was sent out to all MHB teammates asking for donations to support the radio-thon.  Forty-five minutes later teammates had raised $3,915!  With a corporate match of $4,085 it brought Mt. Hood’s total donation to $8,000.  A call was made to 105.1 the Buzz to spread the word of Mt. Hood's success. 

The CCA responded to Mt. Hood's generous donation by presenting Mt. Hood Teammates with the “Hero Award” along with a letter from Regina Ellis (CEO/Founder of CCA).

The Children’s Cancer Association (CCA) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that was established in loving memory of five-year-old Alexandra Ellis who courageously fought cancer for two and half years before she died on May 7, 1995. In the year of Alexandra’s death, CCA was born. Since then, CCA has worked to offer award-winning programs, along with information, advocacy and support that help enrich the quality of life for seriously ill children and their families.
